Our Invitation To You – Sunday Meeting For Worship 10:30 AM

We welcome you to the Westerly Monthly Meeting of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers). The Meeting is guided by our foundational belief that there is that of God in everyone, we affirm that all persons seeking peace and goodwill are welcome regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity, political or religious beliefs, race, nationality, age, or disability.

Welcome! We’re glad you’re curious about Quakers.

So, what is a Quaker? – Quakers, or Friends, belong to a faith community called  the Religious Society of Friends. At the heart of our faith is a beautiful, simple idea:  there is something of God in every person. Because of this, we believe everyone  can have a direct, personal connection with the divine.

Our Shared Quaker Values

While Quaker meetings around the world are wonderfully diverse, we share  common values summarized by the acronym SPICES:

· Simplicity
· Peace
· Integrity
· Community
· Equality
· Stewardship for the Earth

These principles guide how we live, worship, and care for one another and the  world around us.

Experience Our Unprogrammed Silent Worship

At the Westerly Friends Meeting, we come together in our lovely, historic meeting  house at 10:30 on Sunday mornings to share quiet, unprogrammed worship. We settle into  peaceful silence together, and sometimes someone feels inspired to speak— sharing a thought, insight, reflection, or something that’s touched their heart. What  we call vocal ministry. Everyone’s voice is valued and welcomed, and each  message comes from the heart.

A Warm Welcome for You

No matter who you are or where you come from, you are welcome at Westerly  Friends Meeting. We embrace people of all races, backgrounds, sexual  orientations, and abilities—including those exploring other faith traditions or simply  curious about Quaker practice. You’re warmly invited to join us.

Time for Fellowship

After worship, we love to gather downstairs for coffee, tea, and snacks. It’s a  wonderful, informal time to get to know one another, share stories, and connect  over our shared interests and values. Please join us!

First Day School for Children

Kids bring such joy and life to our community and are always welcome in Meeting  for Worship. On the first and third Sundays, we offer child care and activities  downstairs where children explore Quaker values through stories, crafts, and  discussion. Before the close of worship, they rejoin the larger meeting for the final  few minutes—a moment that beautifully ties us all together.

We hope you feel invited to explore and experience the warmth and spirit of the  Quaker community with us!
